Good afternoon everyone. Yesterday the President had a match against Devon Old Presidents in a game that we were victorious by 125-111 shots.

My thanks go out to the clubs that supported the President in this fixture:- Babbacombe, Torbay Country Club, Marldon and three rinks from Abbrook Park.

The weather was reasonably kind to all bowlers but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves judging by the noise and laughter coming from all rinks.

Thanks must go to the ladies of Abbrook Park, Carolyn, Jean and Sue for supplying a lovely cream tea, also Lin and Jeff for tending the bar all afternoon.

Good afternoon everyone. Just a comment on the footnote to the latest league update.

Unfortunately Paignton B.C. had to pull their C team out of the league at the start of the season. This meant that there were only six teams in the league. If the situation stays the same after all teams are registered by the 31st of January 2024 then the Committee will have to relegate three teams from the third division. But if Paignton or any other team apply to join the league then the Divisions will not need to change.

We hope that you understand that no decision can be made untill at least 1st February 2024.

Good morning everyone,

I hope you are enjoying your bowling (not only the League games). As you may know we are building this website from scratch. Whilst it is coming along nicely there will be some parts that take a little bit longer to build to our satisfaction. I would like to congratulate Colin on the way that the Competition pages are coming along. Bob is attempting to publish a weekly update on the League positions. So If he is a little bit late now and again please be patient. I am sure that he will still send them out to the Secretary’s as usual.

Good evening everyone.

I have just received the sad news that Former President and Committee member of the Mid Devon Bowling League John Mason of Paignton B.C has sadly passed away. John gave a lot of his time and efforts to not only the MDBL but his club Paignton B.C.

More details will follow as I receive them.

Good afternoon everyone.

Today was the Funeral of John Mason of Paignton Bowling Club.

The Funeral took place at the Co-operative building Dartmouth Road Paignton at 11am.

John joined Paignton B.C. in the early 2000’s and in 2006 was elected Club Secretary a position he held until his sad passing. Also during this time he became a respected Trustee of the Club and in 2021 was honoured with Life Membership of the club for his service and dedication to the responsible positions he held. He was also a Past President of the Mid Devon Bowling League and served on the MDBL Committee for many years.

He will be missed by many.
